Prestige World-Wide 2 - Evaluation Task 1

In the Caprice I have chosen nine shots to evaluate.

Shot 1: The beginning of our title sequence shows 'Lionsgate' - our distributor. I chose lionsgate because they have a reputation for distributing successful films from our genre; a thriller/horror.

Shot 2: This is my groups Production company; Prestige World-Wide. This is the company that produced our film and provided money for the film. This Prestige World-Wide logo with the blood spread out on marble shows that the company produce films that tend to have a bit of horror in them.

Shot 3. This is an establishing shot that shows location and one of the main characters.

Shot 4. This shows the main characters meeting. We chose them to meet with the 'main house' in the background, to give an effect of the main location. This is a mid-shot and the characters are shaking hands as they are meeting for the first time. A shake of the hand means that they are polite to each other. The costumes they are wearing are smart jackets, trousers, shoes and hat.

Shot 5. This shot shows recognition of our partners in producing the film, 'Dead Man Production' it is important to include them so people can appreciate their expertise. This shot also shows the camera behind the long grass, to give an effect that someone is watching them.

Shot 6. This shows a shot with the two main characters in the background with leaves in the foreground, this again gives an effect of someone watching them.

Shot 7. This shows the two main characters entering the building that they have seen in previous clips, and this building is the building they have been called in to investigate.

Shot 8. This shot shows the drop of a knife, the knife resembles violence and gives the audience a sense of violence that will come in the film.

Shot 9. This shot shows the title of the film; 'The Caprice'. The font of this is courier which is old type writer font; this links it to the setting of when the film took place. The title is large and takes up the majority of the screen, this has been done with an effect where we have put a block out stencil of us lighting a match in a dark room, so the title flickers. This flickering of the title gives a spooky and mysterious effect, which ends the opening title sequence and goes straight into the main bit of the film
